Nørresundby
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nørresundby is a town north of Aalborg on the island of Vendsyssel-Thy, part of the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. It is linked to Aalborg by a road bridge, an iron railway bridge, as well as a motorway (E45) passing it to the east and running under the Limfjord.
Nørresundby has been a part of the municipality (Danish, kommune) of Aalborg (officially Ålborg since the language reform of 1948), in North Jutland County (Nordjyllands Amt).
Nørresundby is the site of the Lindholm Høje settlement and burial ground from the Germanic Iron Age and Viking times. There is also a museum on the site.
