[edit] Gotham City and Mystic Island
The following unsourced and undocumented material was removed from the article and placed here. A wiki or external link documenting the material should be provided. It is also unclear as to what is being replaced. An explanation that says location X in Gotham City corresponds to a specific location in Mystic Island, New Jersey would go a long way to supporting retention of this material :
==Trivia == In the universe of [[DC Comics]], the actual towns and geography in this location are replaced by [[Gotham City]], home of [[Batman]].
- For one - many many batman comics place it in New Jersey - SHADOW OF THE BAT #92 comes to mind off the top of my head. Creators have also said they based the map in No Man's Land off of the Mystic Island area since that is where it is. This in letter columns in the comics themselves - - not sure how much more authoritative than that you can get.
- Based on very quick google searches - not seeing ones pinning it to mystic, but plenty pinning it to NJ and the ocean county area. These are of varying "officiality" of course - Still the comics themselves say mystic island - nuff said.

- I have never rejected the possibility of a connection. But I think that what you describe above is not what was in the original text making the association. I think that a thorough rewording of the original version with a detailed explanation of the connection, combined with some of the specific sources you listed above, would go a long way to satisfying the encyclopedic form that we're all aiming for. The more specific you can be in documenting that specific areas, neighborhoods, streets or other characteristics in Gotham City match corresponding specific features of Mystic Island (not just generic areas of New Jersey or Ocean County), the better.
