Mysophilia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mysophilia is a paraphilia relating to soiled or dirty material or people. It is sometimes also used for coprophilia, coprophagia, and fecophilia.

There are a number of variants of this:

  • Pornographic magazines have long contained advertisements for "used" women's underwear.
  • Some find the dirty footwear of the sex to which they are attracted erotic.

[edit] Notable occurrences

  • 19th century diarist Arthur Munby was strongly attracted to working-class women who did dirty physical labor.
  • In the cartoon series Futurama, the character Morgan Proctor is attracted to Philip J. Fry and has an affair with him because, according to her, he is 'such an untidy slob unlike the neat freaks she is surrounded by all the time'.
