MySpace Records

MySpace Records is a record label started in 2005 to sign artists who appear on the social networking site MySpace. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of MySpace and parent News Corporation. Distribution is contracted to Universal Music Group's Fontana Distribution, with manufacturing and external marketing by Universal's Interscope Records. [1]
MySpace Records operates as an independent label located in Santa Monica, California. The President is MySpace co-founder Tom Anderson and the A&R head is Jon Pikus, former A&R representative of Columbia Records, operating from Beverly Hills. The General Manager is J Scavo, who was recently the Executive Director, Marketing & Artist Development at Hollywood Records, a subsidiary of Disney.
The label will be re-releasing the first record from Mickey Avalon. His full length will be released on November 7, 2006. Hollywood Undead are currently in the studio working on their debut album. The full length from them will be released in early 2007. The label has signed more new artists and bands. MySpace Records plans to announce their new additions soon.
