List of Power Rangers: Mystic Force monsters

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Power Rangers: Mystic Force, these fictional monsters come from the army of the forces of darkness or act on their own, but are generally always concerned with only one goal: defeating the Power Rangers once and for all! To make a monster grow to giant size, the spell "Uthra Mejor" would be cast on the monster, which would then create a force-field that would revive and enlarge the fallen monster.

This large Troll monster was sent to Woodland Village shortly after it was attacked in the first episode, "Broken Spell, Part I". It was incredibly strong and could shoot lasers from its eyes. • First Appearance: "Code Busters" (02/27/06)
  • Voice Actor: John Callen

A mucus/slime monster that's part of the army of the undead. At first it seemed human-sized until Koragg sent it to the surface world where he seemed to grow to giant size. Morticon noted that Mucor had "an appetite for Rangers" and Necrolai fed the Red, Blue and Green Rangers to this giant monster so they couldn't stop the Hydra Worm. Vida managed to cause Mucor to sneeze up the eaten rangers by sprinkling fairy dust in his face and Chip subdued the monster temporarily. In battle, Mucor could fire pea-shaped bullets from one of his arms. Destroyed by the Mystic Titans.

[edit] Hydra Worm

  • First Appearance: "Code Busters" (02/27/06)

An enormous eight-headed worm (similar to the Hydra and Orochi of Greek and Japanese Mythology) that dug the Underworld pit. It burrowed through the forbidden forest to find prey and Clare almost became one of its victims. When the Hydra Worm consumed Phineas, it spat him out. Nick went off to fight this enemy himself but was overpowered by it until the other Rangers joined him. The Rangers were forced to become the Mystic Titans and formed the Mystic Dragon. The Hydra Worm was destroyed by the Mystic Dragon.

[edit] Clawbster

  • First Appearance: "Rock Solid" (03/06/06)
  • Voice Actor: Bruce Hopkins

A feathery cockatrice/lobster mix monster that was sent by Necrolai to turn the citizens of Briarwood (including Madison) into stone. This monster could shoot purple beams from either its eyes or mouth that caused whoever it touched to be turned to stone and could also shoot fire and lasers from its large claws/wings. Clawbster’s wings resembled a pair of dragon heads and it had an extra pair of beaks on its shoulders. Necrolai also aided it in battle, but eventually left it to be defeated by the rangers. Nick cast a spell to create a giant mirror when Clawbster attempted to turn him to stone as well, causing the beam to be reflected right back at the monster turning it to stone. Nick then used the power of the phoenix to destroy the monster. Necrolai was so frustrated that her monster was destroyed that she even kicked one of the stony chunks that was its remains. Clawbster was the first monster to be revived and turned into a giant by Koragg. Clawbster was the first to fight against the Titan Megazord but didn't stand a chance, the monster's fire attack had no effect on the megazord and was easy prey to the Titan Megazord's sword.

  • First Appearance: "Legendary Catastros" (03/20/06)

Another Troll summoned by Koragg to defeat the Power Rangers in episode 6, this troll was identical to the troll from Episode 1 but this one demonstrated that he could speak and was given the Rangers' Megazord power by Koragg allowing him to change into a rockier form. His appearance was that of a Golem/Troll monster. In this form, the Troll was incredibly strong and could do the "Boulder Blast" when he used his large stone club to summon a barrage of boulders that he used to pelt the Rangers with. He was able to overpower the Rangers until Nick and Catastros escaped the Underworld and combined into the Centaurus Phoenix Megazord and destroyed the Troll, returning the Rangers' ability to become the Titan Megazord.

NOTE: It's possible this troll was created from reassembled pieces of the first.

  • First Appearance: "The Gatekeeper, Part II" (05/15/06)

This giant gargoyle monster appeared when the Gate to the Underworld was raised. The Gargoyle of the Gates seemed embedded in stone on top of the gate and broke out of its rocky state to challenge the Rangers. The Gargoyle wielded a trident-like weapon. The Gargoyle fought the Titan Megazord and hurled it against the Gate and caused it to open just enough for Morticon to pry himself out. After Morticon defeated the Titan Megazord, he and the Gargoyle began destroying the city of Briarwood themselves. The Gargoyle was defeated, however, when the Rangers gathered their courage and formed the Mystic Dragon. The Rangers used a cyclone of fire that wrapped around the Gargoyle and engulfed it to destroy it.

  • Voice Actor: Greg Ward

A mischievous gremlin monster who likes to play jokes on people. He was summoned/freed by Imperious to create a giant Dark Magic Seal, similar to Koragg's own dark magic seals, on the surface world in order to obliterate Briarwood. To do so Imperious gave Jester the Pester a magical pen that he used to paint the dark magic symbols on the ground. He also used the pen to play tricks on the humans by painting fake moustaches on them. In battle Jester used a large red mallet and used a scissor-like gauntlet. He could also disappear into and reappear from the ground. He was on the verge of killing Madison until a frog jumped on him, scaring him back. Madison kissed the frog and he reverted to his true form, Daggeron, who then morphed into the Solaris Knight. Jester was destroyed by the Solaris Knight.

He also behaved much like a bull, charging head and horns first at Daggeron's open red cape. It was first destroyed by Xander and his Mystic Muscles , then later by the Solar Streak Megazord.

[edit] Gnatu and Spydex

Gnatu

Gnatu
  • First Appearance: "Soul Specter" (06/19/06)
  • Voice Actor: Callie Blood and Millen Baird

Gnatu is a powerful green, almost plant-like Succubus (a female version of an Incubus) monster with Spydex for a helper. Gnatu could suck the souls/life force out of humans and give them to Spydex, who would use them to power up the "shell" on his back. Gnatu could also breathe green fire from her mouth, displayed pyrokinesis when she lit the cannon's fuse and fly and battled with a saber. Because of Gnatu's skills, Imperious even considered making her his second in command, Necrolai found this quite offensive. Gnatu also took pride in Imperious' offer, taunting Necrolai. Gnatu and Spydex's plan was to use all of the souls that they captured to create a cannonball that when launched would destroy all of Briarwood. However, Chip and Daggeron arrived to defuse the cannon that would have been used to destroy Briarwood. As the rangers attempted to finish off Gnatu, she pushed Spydex in front of her, forcing him to take Chip's attack and destroying him. Gnatu then grew, and was destroyed when the Titan Megazord used the Titans' Attack.

Spydex is an anthropomorphic spider monster that assisted Gnatu. Spydex didn't demonstrate that he was able to speak, but he could create streams of webbing to travel on by swinging through Briarwood similar to Spider-Man. Spydex could also shoot explosive needles from his mouth. Spydex could also grow to giant size without the help of Koragg's magic, it isn't revealed if Spydex grew with the help of Gnatu. Gnatu and Spydex's plan was to use all of the souls that they captured to create a cannonball that when launched would destroy all of Briarwood. However, Chip and Daggeron arrived to defuse the cannon that would have been used to destroy Briarwood. As the rangers attempted to finish off Gnatu, she pushed Spydex in front of her, forcing him to take Chip's attack, energizing his Magi Staff and stabbing it in him, destroying him. Once Spydex was destroyed, the souls that were collected in the cannonball were returned and restored.

Screamer
  • First Appearance: "Ranger Down" (06/26/06)
  • Voice Actor: Lori Dungey

Screamer is a blue harpy monster who was sent to blast the citizens of Briarwood and turn them into feathers. She worked with Necrolai, and managed to defeat all of the Rangers but Madison. At this point, Jenji showed up, and the two proceeded to fight. Jenji was losing at first, and began to disappear due to the fact that he is only allowed to leave the lamp for 2 hours at a time, but his motivation to help granted him extra time. He used his secret technique, the "Super Cat Attack", to fend off Screamer. Madison then appeared, begging to know why Jenji would rather disappear than not help the Rangers. Jenji then disappeared, seemingly forever, until Daggeron showed up, saving him. Madison then took Jenji's lamp and performed a blue version of the "Jenji Shining Attack" to destroy Screamer. Necrolai used her morpher to make Screamer grow, but the large version was destroyed by the Solar Streak Megazord's Furnace Blast and the Titan Megazord's Titan Attack combined.

[edit] Warmax

  • First Appearance: "Dark Wish, Part I" (07/10/06)
  • Voice Actor: Mark Wright

Warmax is one of the four Barbarian Beasts released by Imperious. He was a red-skinned samurai monster who wore blue shogun armor and briefly lost his temper when Koragg bumped into him. He was briefly seen drinking from a jug when he walked away from Koragg. Warmax fought using various sword techniques to best the Mystic Titans. However, Xander as the Mystic Minotaur was able to destroy this warrior easily with an energy slash. It was revealed that Warmax and Shrieker were sacrificed to tire out the Rangers enough for Imperious to carry out his plan.

[edit] Shrieker

  • First Appearance: "Dark Wish, Part I" (07/10/06)
  • Voice Actor: Susan Brady

Shrieker is another one of the four Barbarian Beasts released by Imperious. Shrieker is an insect-like siren monster. When she was released, she screeched that it was nice to see Koragg again, although the feeling was not mutual. She was named for her deadly scream, which could send powerful sonic booms that could blow the Rangers away and could shoot lightning from her eyes. Chip arrived to fight the monster using his Mystic Racer enough for the Rangers to regroup and pull themselves together. Shrieker was destroyed by a combination of a blast from Daggeron's Laser Lamp and blasts from the rangers' individual Magi Staffs. It was revealed by Imperious that Shrieker and Warmax were sacrifices in order to tire out the Rangers enough to carry out his plan.

[edit] 50-Below

  • First Appearance: "Dark Wish, Part I" (07/10/06)
  • Voice Actor: Paul Minifie

50-Below is another of the 4 Barbarian Beasts released by Imperious from Oblivion and is quite possibly the strongest of the four. He's an ice-elemental yeti monster who wore a hockey mask & wielded a hockey stick in battle. He had a "Mega Ice Attack" where he would slam one of his enormous fists into the ground and create a stream of ice, he then would skate along the ice & strike at any opponents he passed by. He could also swat large chunks of ice with his hockey stick at the Rangers as an attack. He and Fightoe were sent by Imperious to battle Koragg. The two monsters defeated the Knight Wolf and 50-Below scoffed at him, telling him that he was foolish to fight with honor. 50-Below & Fightoe left Koragg for dead and were sent by Imperious to battle the Rangers. In desperation, the Rangers begged for Daggeron to use Jenji against the two monsters. Daggeron finally gave in and attempted to use Jenji's Shining Attack, but this was the chance the villains were waiting for, and Fightoe captured Jenji using his magical staff. Because Imperious was impressed by Fightoe and 50-Below's victory, he promoted them to being his generals. When Imperious' wish was reversed, he sent Fightoe and 50-Below to fight the Rangers once again. This time they were also attacked by Koragg. Neither monster stood a chance against the Rangers' Legend power. When Fightoe fled from battle, 50-Below continued to fight the Rangers, summoning an enormous chunk of ice, the "Ultimate Ice" to crush them with. The Rangers used Code 2 to fling 50-Below against the massive glacier, causing his hockey mask to crack as both he & the block of ice were destroyed. After the battle Koragg picked up a piece of the remains of the yeti's armor and stated that because 50-Below lived without honor, it brought about his downfall, then tossed it and walked away.

[edit] Fightoe

  • First Appearance: "Dark Wish, Part I" (07/10/06)
  • Voice Actor: Jason Hoyte

Fightoe was another member of the four Barbarian Beasts who was released by Imperious. Fightoe was a black bulldog/kobold monster that possessed sage-like magical abilities. He wieleded a staff with a ring at the end that could summon explosive bubbles and could also shoot red lasers from his eyes. He and 50-Below were sent by Imperious to fight Koragg since he was an easy target without his magic. The two monsters defeated him and left him for dead. They were then sent to fight the Rangers. It was Fightoe who captured Jenji in "Dark Wish", using his magical staff to trap the cat genie in one of his bubbles. Because of their victory, Imperious promoted Fightoe and 50-Below as his generals. When the world was returned to normal and the Tribunal of Magic reversed Imperious' wish, Fightoe went to fight the Rangers. Necrolai summoned a dark magic seal, which Fightoe jumped through, causing him to grow into a giant. He fought the Titan Megazord, but his staff was broken by the Titan Megazord's "Galaxy Slash". He and 50-Below battled the Rangers again, but they stood no chance against the Rangers' Legend powers. Fightoe retreated, leaving 50-Below to fight the Rangers by himself and therefore was destroyed. Imperious was angered that Fightoe retreated and destroyed him, transporting himself & Fightoe's soul to the Nether Dimension, where Imperious used Fightoe's spirit to power Ursus.

[edit] Ursus

  • First Appearance: "Dark Wish, Part III" (07/10/06)

Ursus is a large machine golem monster found in the Nether Dimension. Imperious destroyed Fightoe and used his soul to power up Ursus. Daggeron and Jenji used the Solar Train to get to the Nether Dimension and fought against Ursus using the Solar Streak Megazord to stop Ursus from emerging into the surface world. They failed when Ursus used an attack strong enough to cause the Solar Streak Megazord to fall through the dimensional boundary. Ursus then broke through into Briarwood itself. Despite its power, the Rangers easily destroyed the machine monster with the Manticore Megazord.

[edit] Chimera

  • First Appearance: "Heir Apparent, Part I" (07/29/06)
  • Voice Actor(s): Adam Gardiner (Main Face), Lauren Jackson (Chameleon Face), Oscar Burt-Shearer (Bull Face)

The Chimera is a monster created in the Dimension of Wandering Souls by Imperious after he siphoned the Solar Streak Megazord's energy for use of a forbidden spell that fused the spirits of all the creatures Leanbow had destroyed. He has three speaking faces: a main prominent one that was monstrous in appearance and had long tentacles/horns coming from the back of its head and large fangs and had a smaller vampire bat-like face on top of it, a female chameleon/mermaid-like face, and a bull face. It also has a lobster's face on its neck, a lion-like face on its chest, a moustached crocodile head for a right arm, Troll's left arm (in its first form), Screamer's feathers, and Clawbster's feet. After defeating Daggeron, he helped Koragg capture the Rangers. When they escaped, however, he returned to the battlefield with Imperious. He managed to hold off the Mystic Dragon, but Nick managed to destroy him with the Phoenix Unizord.
