From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

People used to talk to me here. Then I stopped editing Wikipedia (well, mostly). Now, I mostly get copy-and-pasted notifications. It's kinda nice, in its way.

[edit] Hey Martin!

You're expected! But it seems you've semi-abandoned this project too. Where can you be found these days?

I'm sorry you no longer edit. You calm temperment and sense of fun is sorely missed. Theresa Knott (a tenth stroke) 23:15, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image

The image Bunkertrumbull.jpg which is used in the article "Anarcho-capitalism" is captioned "Many anarcho-capitalists admire the American Revolution and believe it is the only U.S. war that can be justified." How's that? What about the War of 1812? It seems illogical to me that the Revolutionary War be justified while the War of 1812 is not. I am going to inject this into the caption. If I am mistaken, please re-correct. --Fazdeconta 16:57, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Barnstars starting up in French WP

I saw you were fed up with WP:EN, so I'm writing you there about Wikipedia:Barnstars on Wikipedia. I'm currently fed up too with the current ethos and way of chatting inside WP:FR, so I take the idea of Barnstars which seems to be outside French-speaking Wikipédia to this moment. Instead of Barnstars, Laurel crowns would be the icon.

Do you have a kind of advice to tell me to start correctly there ? I mean, remembering how it started here and the answer of the community, how would you do it now, to give some ideas ?

Yours, Holycharly 11:57, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] How do you think?

Hello, MyRedDice. Since you are one of the famous policy-makers, I'd like to beg your opinion about my question, Wikipedia:Help desk#When does an official policy become effective?. With best regards,--ComSpex 23:52, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hey

Are you back? :-)--Eloquence* 00:08, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Only as a consumer, not a contributor. :)

We shall then have to satisfy ourselves with a slight skip in our step rather than the full dancing in the streets that would necessarily accompany your complete return. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 19:09, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Ncwikicol.png listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Ncwikicol.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. BigDT 11:15, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Message copied from my talk for continuityHi. I looked at the place you link and was unable to find a reason. Please inform me as to the reason, or let me know where I can find the reason. Thanks. Martin 10:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
That link was from four months ago. Image deletion discussions are displayed for five days, so it has long been taken down from the main page. To find that day's discussions, look at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2006 August 25. The particular reason for that image's deletion was that it was an orphan and it was rendered obsolete by Image:Wikimedia-logo.svg. --BigDT 13:14, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:LIP Hancock Retrospective.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:LIP Hancock Retrospective.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —Nv8200p talk 02:06, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

The image was listed for deletion because it was not used in any articles on Wikipedia. Orphan images like this are usually deleted. You can reupload the image and link it to a relevant article or upload the image to the Wikimedia Commons. It is not required that images on the Commons be linked to articles but, you cetainly still can link it to an article. -Nv8200p talk 14:20, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of one-letter English words

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of one-letter English words, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:List of one-letter English words. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
