MyLackey.com

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MyLackey.com was a Seattle-based Dot-com founded during the late 1990s. Their business model was to allow consumers to order errands to be performed by employees (lackeys.)

Offered services included car washing and detailing, dog-walking, dropping off and picking up dry cleaning, and other services for busy professionals. Their primary geographical focus was Seattle and Portland, Oregon.

MyLackey was founded in April 1999 by two former executives of another Internet startup company, eChange - Brendan Barnicle and Brian McGarvey.

Among the venture capital firms investing in MyLackey.com was WaldenVC, who provided $6.5M in second-round funding.

The firm was a victim to the dot bomb fallout, and closed their doors on October 20, 2000, after 16 months of operation.

An infamous incident in the history of MyLackey was a memorandum written by co-founder Barnicle complaining about the lack of employees working at 6:45PM, and demanding that all employees work from 8am to 7pm.
