My Fault

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"My Fault" is an Eminem song from The Slim Shady LP, released in 1999. An edited version of the song also appeared on the Celebrity Death Match soundtrack.

The song describes a fictional party, where Eminem meets an ex-heroin addict by the name of Susan. After the girl says that she's going to use the drug again, Eminem offers her a magic mushroom. Not knowing the consequences, she eats the entire bag of twenty-two mushrooms.

While Susan is under the influence of the drugs, it is revealed that she was raped by her father. She hallucinates, and talks to a plant, believing it to be Eminem. The song finishes with Eminem guiltily realising that Susan is going to die because of the overdose. In reality, it is impossible to overdose on psychedelic mushrooms.

[edit] Factual base

While the story told by the song is a work of fiction, the song is based in fact. One of Eminem's friends had a bad acid trip and revealed his worries about his unemployment, amongst other things. The experience inspired the rapper to write the song.
