Myū Azama

Myū "Mew" Azama (安座間 美優?) (born December 26, 1986 in Hiroshima and grew up in Okinawa Prefecture) is an idol actress in Japan. At 169 cm,(5'6 1/2") she is a tall girl by Japanese standards. Her hobbies include dance, calligraphy, and making sweets. Her agency is VERTEX.
Her first internationally-noticed role was as the amazonian Sailor Senshi of courage and thunder, Sailor Jupiter in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. The show also allowed her to release a CD single that contained two songs (like the rest of the Senshi), "Lovely Yell" and "Miracle Dance Night". She models in the Japanese Seventeen magazine.

- Azama, who portrays Sailor Jupiter in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is thought of by her co-stars as highly girlish and demure, the opposite of her forthright and tomboyish character.
- Azama signs her name "Mew," using Roman characters. She explains it in her profile: "美優 is read Myū. I was named from Koizumi Kyoko's famous song 'MEW of dawn'. So, the inscription is also MEW"
- She appears as a guest star (at the moment) in the Japanese series Gachibaka. Her role in this series is a rebellious school girl named "Rie".
