[edit] Modes

There are four modes to play:

  • Academy Training-this is where special costumes can be unlocked. Most characters have the ability to unlock 2 costumes, but 6 unfortunately cannot. To unlock the third costume, one should press R2+X and for the fourth press is R2+0.
  • Arcade-in this mode, it is possible to unlock the outro movies of characters. When all characters in the row are unlocked, Psylocke is unlocked for the left row and Juggernaut is unlocked for the right row. There are two special characters that can be unlocked after passing with the character. If one passes with Cyclops, Spider-Man is unlocked; if one passes with Magneto, Xavier is unlocked.
  • Versus-this is where the Beach Background can be unlocked. This can be accomplished if one plays a lot of times. Here, multiplayer mode is available, two human players (the other controller) versus one computer player.
  • Survival-this mode is where one can fight all characters until one loses all health on their character.
