Musidora Stakes

The Musidora Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for three-year-old thoroughbred fillies run over a distance of 1 mile 2 furlongs and 88 yards (2,092 metres) at York Racecourse in May.
It is a recognised trial race for the Epsom Oaks. It was first run in 1961 and is named in honour of Musidora winner of the One Thousand Guineas and Oaks in 1949. Five winners of the race have gone on to win the Oaks - Noblesse (1963), Bireme (1980), Diminuendo, Snow Bride and Reams Of Verse. The 2006 Oaks winner, Alexandrova was second in the Musidora Stakes.
