The Museum of the Rockies is located in Bozeman, Montana, and is known for its paleontological collections. The Museum is also part of Montana State University in Bozeman. The Museum of the Rockies houses the largest collection of dinosaur remains in the United States (even more specimens than the Smithsonian Institute or the American Museum of Natural History), and possesses the largest T-Rex skull ever discovered. Also of note is yet another world-renowned specimen; a Tyrannosaurus Rex thigh bone containing the remains of soft tissue. This specimen may well revolutionize the world of paleontology. Renowned paleontologist, Jack Horner (Some of the background plot elements in Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park and the Lost World are based on Horner, Museum of the Rockies, and Montana State University), is curator of paleontology at the museum. The museum is located at Kagy Blvd and South Third in Bozeman. The Museum recently placed a beautifully preserved skull of a juvenile Triceratops (discovered Summer 2006) on display.
