[edit] Synopsis
In the second Beach Party film, Frankie, Dee Dee, and the beach gang hit the Malibu beach for another summer of surfing only to find their hangout beach threatened by a small gang of muscle bodybuilders, led by the dim-witted coach Jack Fanny, who move in next door to them. All the while, an Italian Countess is trying to steal Frankie from Dee Dee and, much to everyone's surprise, he seems more than happy to go along with it! Fortunately, due to some wise advice from Buddy Hackett, Frankie sees the error of his ways and comes back to Dee Dee.

[edit] Comments
Unlike the others in the series, "Muscle Beach Party" seems to have an overall negative tone. Every character seems angry at someone else and Frankie and Annette's relationship has never been more unstable. Harvey Lembeck as Eric Von Zipper doesn't appear in this film, and that is a pity. He could have added some much needed spice.
A happy surprise is Peter Lorre as Mr. Strangdour, "The Strongest Man in the World". Several of American International Pictures classic horror actors appeared in cameo roles in the Beach movies, notably Vincent Price and Boris Karloff.
