Please don't create empty articles. User:Zoe|(talk) 04:09, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Not joking in the slightest. If you can't be bothered to make a real article, create it in your user space and move it into article space when it has more than an infobox. User:Zoe|(talk) 04:26, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Same Old Zoe
Murgh, I had the same problem with Zoe that you did. She thinks because she's a admin she can go around deleting people's articles on a whim without even the courtesy of a note to the author. Then she goes on to say our opinions don't matter because of the length of time we've been members. I'm getting fed up with her ridiculous attitude. Are there any admins that you've had better luck dealing with or does Wikipedia endorse all their admins behaving like jerks? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Varpness (User:Varpness • contribs) 21:52, 9 November 2006(UTC).
- well, I'm sure she weeds out a lot of spam and insincere stuff in a day, and performs a productive function, but what she did to me I'd call bad judgement and a disregard of how I interpret the wiki:delete guidelines. Still, I did make an inexperienced decision, and I've leaned a lesson (and skillz like making user subpages) from the ordeal of appealing for undeletions, which might not have come so soon withough her influence. Besides from the flash anger and frustration of the experience, I suppose it's my gain and can't bear a grudge. Don't think I'll send her any awards though ;-) And yes, the balance was restored soon after, with a sympathetic admin stepping in to help..Murgh 23:15, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Spirou undeletions
Thanks for responding to my undelete plea. It makes a feller more cheerful. Will it be possible at a later time to access the remaining articles once I've fattened up what I got?
again, dank U well. Murgh 14:17, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- I forgot to say that in the Deletion review: I'll undelete the others later today, if noone beats me to it. But eventually you will have them all userfied. Aecis Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984. 14:22, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks, your helpfulness is noted. If youre a fan of Spirou or BD subject matter, I'd like to run some content by you once at a point it feels worthwhile. Murgh 14:46, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

- I've read some of their books when I was younger, but I was never really fond of it. I'm more into Asterix :) I'm afraid I won't be of much assistence when it comes to the content, but I'm willing to help you out with the manual of style etc. Just drop a note when you feel it's worthwhile. - Thasscool.. But you seem tech savvy, and there's one thing I've wondered about but not dared to experiment with. After looking around at various infobox templates, I ended up with the Book Series infobox that Yoko Tsuno uses, but it annoys me that the ISBN info couldn't be placed in there under publisher. seems natural to me.. would it be relatively easy to custom make a template variant, that might catch on? - You might want to take a look at Category:Comic book infobox templates. It's possible to create an infobox specifically for Spirou et Fantasio, one that you can use in the articles for all Spirou albums. Aecis Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984. 19:54, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Maybe you didn't need them?
Hi,
There were still two articles apparently un-userfied from your mass request. I have userfied them for you at User:Murgh/Le dictateur et le champignon and User:Murgh/Le repaire de la murène. Best wishes, Xoloz 17:52, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- For whatever reason, La corne de rhinocéro does not appear to have any deleted edits in the database. Is it possible that you mistyped the title, transposing an accent, or something? It is a rare thing for data to be lost, but it is not completely unheard of, so that is also possible. Best wishes, Xoloz 18:40, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Those are the ones I hadn't yet gotten to undeleting. Thanks, Xoloz :) I've also undeleted and userfied User:Murgh/La corne de rhinocéros. If I'm not mistaken you've now got every article you created. If not, please let me know, so that I can finish your request. [edit] Infobox
Hello, congratulations on your articles on individual Spirou albums. It's great we have them. Contrary to what Aecis said above though, I would ask you to not create a new infobox, but to use a general one which we (the Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics) intend to use for all graphic novels and European comics: the Template:Graphicnovelbox. We are slowly introdcuing this in the Tintin albums (up to The Seven Crystal Balls by now), and will also use this for Asterix, Yoko Tsuno, Bilal, ... It's much easier to have one infobox that can be use d everywhere, and is specifically developed for our comics, than to create all individual infoboxes which are almost carbon copies anyway. The graphicnovelbox should contain all info you need and many fields you won't need. If you need any help with it, you can always ask me or User:A Man In Black. I can also change the infoboxes in the already existing articles, but it would be handy if in any new articles you immediately used the new template. Thanks! Fram 06:07, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, Fram. thanks for encouragement. I *thought* I scouted well before making a new infobox, but missed this exact one I was looking for. It will work splendidly. I'll begin using it from all the new Spirous I do, and alter the ones already done.
- The only comment I have (although certainly not crucial) is if there could be inserted a bracket for number of an album within a series, or did you decide against this at some point?. Murgh 13:59, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose this can be included, although we would need two (original and translated), since these aren't always the same (e.g. for the Smurfs or Spike and Suzy). I'll look into it in a moment. No problem that you missed this one, it is only used in 14 Tintin's so far, I still need to convert 60 or more comics to it. Fram 14:17, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- I see the dilemma with separate series.. in the case with (untranslated) Spirou there are no such problems, but it seems to make more sense, with no english publication, to switch the brackets for english and original titles (ex: Quatre aventures de Spirou et Fantasio). Does this create a problem with continuity? Murgh 14:32, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- You can use in such cases (when there is no English translation) |title instead of |englishtitle and |foreigntitle: this should give you just the title (no brackets).
- And to come back to the issue number: I propose that for the moment, we just add it to the title (or englishtitle): making it "Spirou #1: Quatres Aventures de Spirou et Fantasio" or "Tintin 8: King Ottokar's Sceptre" (or something similar). Would this suffice? I fear that the infobox is already quite long, and I would prefer not to make it any longer if avoidable. Fram 14:36, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:SpirouMauvaiseSV.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:SpirouMauvaiseSV.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 17:07, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- I find that strange, because the image isn't orphaned, but used on La mauvaise tête. I thought it would be auto tagged, but.. Ah, yes. My bad. I replaced it with a similar, smaller and better png, and forgot to tag the jpg for deletion. Sorry and thanks. Murgh 19:37, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
