Murray McCully (born in 1953 in Whangarei), a New Zealand politician, holds membership of the National Party. McCully first entered Parliament as MP for East Coast Bays (in the northern part of Auckland city) in the 1987 elections, and became MP for the new seat of Albany in the 1999 elections. In the 2002 elections he returned as MP for the reconstituted East Coast Bays seat.
During the National and coalition governments of 1990 to 1999 McCully served in a number of Cabinet roles, including those of Minister of Customs, Minister of Housing, Minister of Tourism, and Minister of Immigration. Before entering politics McCully worked as a lawyer. His partner, Jane Clifton, works as a columnist for The New Zealand Listener and as a political journalist.
