Muroga Hyōma (japanese: 室賀 豹馬, hiragana: むろが ひょうま, rōmaji: Muroga Hyouma) a character featured in the Japanese anime Basilisk Kouga Ninpou Chou (known in English as the Kouga Ninja Scrolls). Hyouma was chosen as one of ten ninja to represent the Koga Manjidani clan in their war against the rival Iga Tsubagakure clan.
As the second in command to Lord Kouga Danjo, Hyouma was assigned to be the sensei of Danjo's grandson Gennosuke. Over the years, Hyouma successfully taught his pupil to wield the Genjutsu technique he invented as well as how to rely on other senses besides sight. Unlike Gennosuke, Hyouma's Genjutsu is always in effect so he must keep his eyes shut or else risk killing those around him. To compensate, Hyouma develops an almost radar-like sense of hearing that makes it impossible for him to be snuck up on.
[edit] Battles
Hyouma VS Nenki: This was to be Hyouma's first conflict in the series. After Nenki had invaded into Kouga's hideout, ready to kill Gennosuke and Hyouma, Gennosuke ordered Hyouma to open his eyes. After Hyouma had unleashed his doujutsu, all of Nenki's ligaments were dislocated, resulting in a rather disturbing bloodless death of Nenki.
Hyouma VS Koshiro: This was to be a battle that would take place during the middle of the night. Gennosuke, along with Kagerou both fled while Hyouma kept the currently blind Koshiro at bay. After a few bouts between Koshiro and Hyouma, Hyouma accepted his death by allowing Koshiro to hit him direct head on by his vacuum technique, resulting in Hyouma's face being blown off. Hyouma died a very honorable death uttering his last words, "Live on...Gennosuke.", in which he died while being supported by his sword that was in the ground blade first.
