Muriel Kauffman

Muriel McBrien Kauffman (August 28, 1916-March 17, 1995) was wife of Ewing Kauffman and the two were the founding owners of the Kansas City Royals baseball team.
She was born in Toronto, Canada, graduated from the Trafalgar Castle School in Whitby, Ontario and the McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
She met Ewing the early 1960s in Miami, Florida. He was attending a medical convention and she was vacationing at the same hotel. They married in February 1962.
Ewing died in 1993 and she died in 1995. The bulk of the family fortune is now administered by the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
