Murdeira (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: Murdéra and the Sal Crioulo) is a village in the southcentral part of the island of Sal. The village is about 6 km south of Espargos and around 5 km north of Santa Maria Murdeira is in the middle of the island's major highway linking Santa Maria and Espargos and is the only highway.

Murdeira is famous for its tourism and the population has been dramatically growing with many people buying houses in the area especially from other parts of Cape Verde. Hotels and restaurants also saw growth and will continue to expand.
Desert sands dominates the area around the village with hills to the northeast, vegetation are within the villages and the coastline. Farmlands are mainly composes of cattle and livestock as well as tropical fruits and rare vegetation, other fruits and vegetables and wheat are exported from other parts of Cape Verde that has a wetter climate since farm size is very small.
The village is in the island's middle class class. Nearly half of the houses are built with mud-brick and stone, the rest are concrete or sand with stone and now more houses are built with brick and steel reinforced concrete. Until the 1980s, all of its population are farmers and are based in agriculture, the arrival tourism brought tourism as its main industry and has been growing and is becoming the main industry of the village. However, a part of the needy materials comes from the island capital, the island capital and the diaspora. But for other needs, electricity, communications and appliances are partially available in the area as well as phone lines since the mid to late-20th century. A part of the necessities also comes from the island capital.
