Mundingburra State School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mundingburra State School is a primary school located in the suburb of Mundingburra, in the city of Townsville, Australia.

[edit] History

It was established in 1884, with an enrollment of 38 children. The original school consisted of a single block (which can still be found in the present school compound), and was designed to hold 100 children. The school has flourished since then, and by 2000 had an enrollment of over 600 students.

[edit] Location

The school is located on Ross River Road, adjacent to Anderson Botanical Gardens, and is surrounded by mature gardens. These include large Moreton Bay Figs. The school purchased a section of the park from the council in 1991, which significantly extended its grounds.
