Munch'ŏn is a North Korean city located in Kangwŏn Province. It lies on the coast of the Sea of Japan.

Munch'ŏn sits on Yŏnghŭng Bay, a bay of the Sea of Japan. Its consists mainly of lowland, and the northeast has more plain area than the southwest. The Masikryŏng Mountain Range is in the southwest. The Sokko Mountain Range and Ch'ŏnryŏng Mountain Range are also located here, and Kulttuk Peak is the highest mountain. The main river is the Namchŏn River. The city's land is 66% forested,

Munch'ŏn contains 16 tongs and 14 ris.

Munch'ŏn has reserves of zinc, gold, silver, limestone, dolomite, granite, and clay. Anthracite is also produced, and industry is especially developed. Fishery, fruit, and livestock industries are also active. Grain is the main agricultural product.

Munch'ŏn is served by the Kangwon Line and the Koam Line railways.
