[edit] 2nd oldest city in the civilized world?

I heard this claim three times during the England Pakistan test today, any truth to it? If so, should it be included here?Fkh82 06:35, 13 November 2005 (UTC) yes, it's true.

yeah man I live in multan and I have heard it in so many times and when england cricket team was in multan then ten sports made a small documentary of multan in which they repeated that line.

[edit] Lots of changes and improvements to the article

I have reformated the article to improve the quality and layout to make it more reader friendly;

  1. Changed old infobox to a more up-to-date one used for Pakistani cities
  2. Added link to a seperate History of Multan article, so we can shift the history section into the other article and rewrite the history to form a summary in the main multan page
  3. Changed title of Location to Geography and Climate
  4. Combined Industry, agriculture, fruit export sections to form one Economy section
  5. Reformated the sites of interest section and moved text to individual articles where they can be expanded upon.
  6. Readded pics to the article that removed at the start
  7. Added more references that I used about History.

If I can make any more inprovements to the article(s) do contact me. Many Thanks Fast track 03:56 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sanskrit is not relevent

Sanskrit is not relevent to any article related to Pakistan. Inclusion of Sanskrit implies that this language is still in use in Pakistan, which is completely wrong. If you insist to add Sanskrit then add it in History section with the etymology of the word Multan. But remove it from the first line of the article. Szhaider 14:45, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

After a second thought I have come to agree with Tigeroo to some extent. However, I think adding Sanskrit to first line implies that it is an alternative name of Multan which is wrong. Therefore, I have moved Sanskrit to the history section. Note that I am not censoring this information; just moving to more appropriate place to make more sense out of it. [edit] Historical Images

It would be nice if anybody can upload images of ruins of suraj mandir or Prahladpuri temples?. It would make history section of article more complete.
