Multimedia Development Corporation

The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC - previously known as MDC) is a government-owned institution responsible for the management of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia) in Malaysia as a world-class technology industry and commerce zone.
The MDeC is charged with:
- attracting international ICT (Information & Communication Technology) businesses to set up shop in the MSC Malaysia, and providing them technical and administrative assistance in doing so
- engender relationships between MSC Malaysia businesses
- attracting talented ICT professionals to work in the MSC Malaysia
- connect new business operations with quality employees (through its KWX subsidiary)
- manage the digital infrastructure of the MSC Malaysia area (through its MSCTC subsidiary) and security (through its Trustgate subsidiary, which is also a commercial service)
- encourage investment in MSC Malaysia businesses (through its MSCVC subsidiary)
- advise the government on the development of technology-related laws
- maintain the MSC Malaysia's commercial and residential services
The board of directors of the MDeC include major Southeast Asian technology investors, as well as the Malaysian Secretary-Generals of the Treasury, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications|Energy and Communications. (See Politics of Malaysia.)
