Mullapudi Harishchandra Prasad

Dr. Mullapudi Harishchandra Prasad is the chairman and managing director of the Andhra Sugars Group and one of the richest industrialists in southern India. He is regarded as the doyen of Andhra Pradesh industry. He is originally from the town of Tanuku in Andhra Pradesh, and is related to the Chitturi zamindars of Kulla. In 1984, Harishchandra Prasad was campaigning for a party ticket for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, as his hometown of Tanuku is in the West Godavari District.
