Muhajireen is a Arabic word meaning "immigrants", or "migrators"

It is also a Islamic term that denotes the first Muslims that migrated (Arabic: Hijra) from Mecca to Medina . Those helping are termed "Helpers" (Arabic Ansar). Many of the Sahaba (Muhammad's companion) are Muhajireen, including Abu Bakr and Umar.
