Apart from this article, nobody seems to use "mud crab" for Xanthidae. Sometimes "mud crab" refers to the mangrove crab Scylla serrata, and sometimes to members of the Panopeidae, but never (or not very often, anyway) to Xanthidae. Would anyone object if I moved this page to Xanthidae and had "mud crab" redirect to Mangrove crab (or, perhaps a better option, pull the text about Scylla serrata from mangrove crab and give it its own page at mud crab)? --Stemonitis 13:24, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Well, I've done it: mud crab is now a disambiguation page, and Scylla serrata has its own page under its scientific name. It was just getting too confusing with different people having different ideas as to which species "mud crab" refers to, and which is "mangrove crab". Naturally, in different places, different crabs fit the bill, hence the disambiguation. --Stemonitis 07:48, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)
