Muckanaghederdauhaulia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Muckanaghederdauhaulia is the English language name of a village in Ireland called Muiceanach idir Dhá Sháile in Irish (pronounced something like mwick-unnok-ithir-gaw-haul-ya, the th sound as in the or there, not as in throw). The full translation of the Irish is pig-marsh between two seas — or briny inlets, in this instance.

It is a small protrusion of land into Camus Bay (Cuain Chamais) in the Connemara Gaeltacht directly west of Kinvara (Cinn Mhara) on the R336 road between Camus and Carraroe, in County Galway, Ireland. Muckanaghederdauhaulia is believed to be the longest place name in Ireland.
