[edit] Chart performance
MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 peaked at #2 on Billboard magazine's Billboard 200 chart, and peaked at #3 on the magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.[1] In the UK, it charted at #50. The album was certified platinum in June of 2002, well below the eight times platinum mark achieved by its predecessor, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
[edit] Critical response
Some critics have called this album career suicide and the Rolling Stone article, "The Mystery of Lauryn Hill," [1] said that few would buy it. The album however went platinum.[2] Some considered the recording to be a sign of a breakdown, others as a sign of Hill's genius. Many critics have praised her honesty. Montreal film journal said "She’s growing as an artist and as a person, and watching it happen is inspiring."
