[edit] In the anime

In the anime, Mt Silver is the home of the Johto League and Silver Town in the Pokémon anime. It is the location where the Johto League Conference is held annually, in which trainers fight for the Johto League Trophy and the title of Champion of the Johto League.

[edit] Red

In the Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions, trainers battle Red at Silver Cave, a small cave near the peak of the mountain. The name and design implies that he is the protagonist from the Red, Blue, and Yellow versions of the game, though the Pokémon in his team (specifically a high level Pikachu) may imply that he is also based on Red from the manga older games. He says nothing to the player before and after the battle. Mt. Silver can only be accessed by beating all 16 gym leaders from the Kanto and Johto regions and proving as much to Professor Oak in the game. Red's Pokémon are:

  • Blastoise (Level 77)
  • Charizard (Level 77)
  • Venusaur (Level 77)
  • Espeon (Level 73)
  • Snorlax (Level 75)
  • Pikachu (Level 81)

[edit] Wild Pokémon

Silver Cave is home to Pokémon with levels around 40-50. However, there is a chance you will find a Lv. 51 Donphan. (Silver only) It is the only place in the game where you can catch Larvitar and Misdreavus, the latter appearing only at night. The grass and fields outside the Silver Cave entrance are full of Rapidash, Ursaring and Magmar. Although technically located on the Johto side, it can only be accessed through Kanto by way of Route 28 unless you fly from Johto after visiting once.

[edit] Demographics

In the anime, Mt. Silver has an accompanying city called Silver Town. However, in the games, there is no such city, making it's population possibly 2, consististing of the old lady in the pokémon center and the "celebrity" in a house along the road (the nurses of the Pokémon Center do not count as inhabitants).
