[edit] Ship History

  • The Carnival Holiday was placed in service in 1985. It is the smallest ship that is currently still in the fleet; any other smaller ships have either been decommissioned or sold off to another cruise line. The ship's condition had been in decline until 2003, when it was sent into the dry docks and renovated. In 2005, during Hurricane Katrina, the ship was used as temporary housing for victims of the storm. After leaving Mississippi it was again sent to the dry docks an additional three weeks of renovations. New carpeting, plumbing, and propeller repair was performed, among many other improvements. Holiday has since resumed its normal route from Mobile, AL to the Bahamas.
