Mrs Mac's Pies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mrs Mac's Pies are a range of commerically produced quality and semi-gourmet meat pies sold throughout Australia and produced in Perth, Western Australia.
Started in the 1950's as Bakewell Pies in Perth, the company rebranded itself and its main line as Mrs Macs Pies in 1988 as they attempted to expand further into the takeaway hotbox market. Sold throughout Australia and exported to New Zealand and Hong Kong, Mrs Mac Pies are slightly more expensive than other brands such Four'N'Twenty, the brand generally competes on its higher quality and range of Variety Pies, mass produced semi-gourmet products, featuring fillings beyond the normal mince and gravy fare such as Steak & Cheese, Curry, Pepper Steak, and Chilli Beef & Cheese.
Exports to New Zealand in question as they can barely make the 25% meat content of the meat. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200608/s1723675.htm
With the brand's focus on the takeway and servo market, Mrs Mac Pies are advertised primarily towards reaching people in their cars, both on the radio and roadside Billboards using the slogan "If it's not a Mrs Mac's, take it back!"
