Request reason: "i am confused.... what have i done wrong..... One of my friends from colledge asked my to vote for him on some article on this website. I did and i get accused of being a sock puppet. What is a sock puppet? What on earth have i done wrong? I am on a school ip, so you arent blocking one person you are blocking a school of people"
Decline reason: "Sockpuppetry confirmed per Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Hunter91 -- Netsnipe ► 15:28, 10 September 2006 (UTC)"
Administrators: This template should be removed when the block has expired, or after 2 days in the case of blocks of 1 week or longer.
- Based on what you said, about your friend asking you to vote for him, you have not engaged in sockpuppetry, but the 3rd party process will help sort it out. Rather, this is called Meatpuppetry: debates on this site are virtually never "votes," so the number of users is unimportant: what matters is to get a clean and unbiased view of what the Wikipedia community thinks of an issue. When someone asks their friends to help them in a debate, it only screws things up. And it can look like they created themselves a bunch of new accounts so they could vote multiple times.
