[edit] Myself

My name is Ignatius Lim, but please just address me as Mr Tan, or SGI, the abbreviation on Soka Gakkai International. Some may mistake the word Tan for Chen in Minnan, but what I actually meant is The one who tans in the sun. I am the son of Chrismond Lim (born Chrismond Cheor, but he changed his surname) and Sophie Cheonh.

I was born in the USA and a citizen of the USA, although I have acquired Permanent Residentship in Singapore, and I also stay in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, intermittently. I work as an amateur designer from time to time, and I hope that my edits will benefit by improving the design and outlook of articles.

Currently I am back in Honolulu, Hawaii, US. According to my elders, I am of mixed Chinese, Portuguese, English (and a little of other racial) descent, and I'm proud to be one. Strangely, I look 100% Chinese despite my varied ancestry.

My family are largely of Soka Gakkai since my parent's generation, although my ancestors were Methodists ever since American missionaries introduced Christianity to China.

Often I frequent illegal nightclubs and sleep in the morning during the holidays, for I have not reach the appropriate age limit to enter such places approved by the government. Heroin and marijuana are usually my favourite sprees, and I take them when I return to America, as Singapore's law don't permit teens like us to take drugs in public. The good news is, no police in the world can catch underground teen gangsters like us - Once I bashed up a police and escaped scot free. Cool eh?

I am a hardcore fan of the late Toshiro Mifune, Chouseishin Gransazer and Masked Rider Ryuki, name a few.

[edit] My attitude towards wikipedia

In the 21st century, the human goal is to look foward to enhancing its arts and sciences towards a greater dimension, and the world are gradually accepting English language as the fundamental tool in communication between people from all over the world. This can be seen from the existence of wikipedia, particularly the English version, in globalising free information to every human being in the world, regardless of his race or place of residence.

Wikipedia itself is not only a ground for obtaining information but it is also a ground for social interaction. To accept wikipedia as part of himself one must have a generous heart of contributing to society in exchange fpr what he does as well as sacrificing time to built this wikipedia. If everybody on wikipedia can work hand in hand as friends, and not engage in feudal competitions, wikipedia can be a great place for every single individual to work in. However, one must know the limits of one self: Excessive volunteer work squanders one's life unknowingly; one must learn to have self-discipline, and manage his time, spirit and human relations well within his inner circle of life.

Basically, I'm an English speaker. I also speak some Chinese, and a smattering of German, Yiddish, Russian, name a few.

Concerning the babel language boxes, I personally hope that there will be a category for people who speak english at native level, at level (en-5), while en-6 would be allocated for professional speakers. (I do not speak english professionally, but I consider myself that I use English at native level, above near-native level, of which oral, writing and comprehending skills are all taken into consideration. The same applies to other languages I have added in.

Also, I want to make a point on these language boxes here: Concerning the "basic", "intermediate" and "advanced" skills, I would greatly appreciate if anybody wishes to show their support on the construction of the "lower intermediate", and "upper intermediate" skills. This would differentiate our language skills more easily and at a better. Without these features, I myself find it difficult to group some of my languages.

By the way, I have personally brought up this fact at Wikipedia:Babel, but to my disappointment there are no comments. If anyone of you are interested to post your comments, you are welcomed to do so on my talk page.

The Reader's Digest magazine talks about wikipedia in its January 2006 edition.

[edit] Specialist topics

Just don't drag on a topic for too long, and hop on to another topic, and another simultaneously simply to hog me down and piss me off like M.E. did to several Users in the past.

Oh well, forget about the damn past. Anyway, I specialise in areas related to Tibet, South Korea, Japan, Siberia and Singapore. I am willing to help anyone who is in need, and I like collaborative but reclusive users who edit at their own interests. I'm not sure I'm one of them, but I really hope so. My grammar and vocabulary usage varies in terms of standard from time to time. I welcome anybody to edit my gramatical and vocabulary mistakes on my works, and even contribute more information to it, but take offence of anybody who did it at the expense of changing the content material, sequence of the content and design layout of the article (My designs are often of wikipedian standards). Removal of content must be reasoned that it does not corresponds to the title of the article. That is what I always did to others. One must consider and be sensitive to the effort and blood they put in to contribute to the content of the article.

Leave your old pasts behind your trail. Walk on, and edit carefreely. Edit on wikipedia as a carefree child, and don't get hogged down by disputes. Get over your failures, and walk away in the case of punksters coming to harass and piss you off for his own pleasures.

[edit] Miscellanous

"Revert wars are usually considered harmful, because they cause ill-will between users and negatively destabilize articles. Users are encourage to explore alternate methods of dispute resolution, such as negotiation, surveys, requests for comment, mediation, or arbitration."--Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Jguk/Proposed decision
