Talk:Mr. Popper's Penguins
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is my first article, so feel free to clean it up, move things around, whatever is appropriate. I'd only ask that any changes be noted here, so that I know what to do for next time. :) Chrismith 23:14, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Bad info
I'd just like to say that the next time your have a report, don't include bad information if you can help it. If you read the book the penguin was not given the name Captain Cook after the explorer James Cook, but because he kept saying "Gook, gook, gook." I simply suggest you take a look at the book again.
- I just did (reading it to my children). The name is inspired by the sound, but the similarity to the name of James Cook is mentioned in the same or next sentence. It is clear that, without this coincidence, it might have gotten a completely different name. It is making other sounds, too. Also, the "captain" in the name is of course after Captain James Cook.--Niels Ø 08:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
