Mr. Mouse
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mr. Mouse is a blue stop animated mouse character with an American accent used to advertise the insurance company esure in a series of television commercials in the UK from May 2005. This character replaces the company's long-running iconic Michael Winner commercials, used since 2002, with their catchphrase "Calm down dear, it's only a commercial!", which, though a major success for the company, were considered irritating by some.[1]
Mr. Mouse was designed by Sian Vickers and Chris Wilkins, who came out of retirement at the request of Peter Wood, the founder of esure. They were responsible for the Smash Martians as well as the four-wheeled red telephone used by Direct Line in their publicity.
Mr. Mouse's catchphrases include "Insurance at mices' prices!" and "Go on, give us a click!".
There was even a promotion by esure, in which careful drivers would also get a free soft plush Mr. Mouse with every quote made online.
