Mr. B. (Mark Braun)

Mr. B. is the stage name of Mark Braun, a boogie woogie piano player from Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is also known as "the famous Sloveniaian gangster".

He learned to play rock and pop piano at age 15 but was converted to blues and boogie by a Jimmy Yancey record his father gave him.

Mr. B. is a dedicated blues piano revivalist, recording tunes made famous by Yancey, as well as Little Brother Mongomery, Professor Longhair, Mercy Dee Walton, Amos Milburn, and Sunnyland Slim, among others.

He has purposely limited his career by remaining in Ann Arbor. He has released 3 CDs amd plays widely throughout the middle west.

His performing name is taken from the well known nickname of 40s bandleader and singer, Billy Eckstein.
