[edit] Mountaintop vs. Mountain Top
The United States Postal Service uses the spelling Mountain Top for ZIP Code 18707. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 03:25, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
It's always baffled me which spelling is correct. As stated above, the USPS uses Mountain Top. However, I believe there are highway signs in the area that use Mountaintop. Is there any way to determine which is "correct"? Fazul 01:17, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Drivers Lisence
Penn DOT uses Mountain Top on drivers lisences and there is a Historical Marker in Mountain Top that reads "Mountain Top" so I would say it should be 2 words as the historical marker reads.
[edit] Reason for edit
I edited part of the section regarding "Mountain Top" vs. "Mountaintop" because it was partly superfluous (the part about metaplasmus) and partly unsupported ("it's a well known fact that..."). It was also teetering on the brink of NPOV. The remaining text is enough to support the point. As there is some genuine debate on the issue (though I think it's clear that the correct name is "Mountain Top"), I also altered the opening line slightly. Brad E.
