Mount Monroe is the highest peak south of Mount Washington in the Presidential Range of New Hampshire. It is one of the tallest mountains in the state of New Hampshire. The Lakes of the Clouds, and its AMC hut, lie nestled at the low point along the ridge between Mount Monroe and neighboring Mount Washington.
