Mount Doongal

Mount Doongal is a peak in Queensland state forest north of Maryborough Queensland, Australia. The mountain, although not particularly high, is said to offer views to Fraser Island off the southern Queensland coast and north to the town of Childers. Mt Doongal can be reached via the Maryborough-Biggenden Road and then by taking the north Aramara turn-off and following unsealed roads. The track to the top is little rough but could probably be traversed by 2WD with reasonable clearance. Mt Doongal's GPS location is S25.29.233 E152.20.685. Elevation, according to a GPS, is around 700 feet above sea level. Thickening vegetation regrowth on the mountain top is currently (Feb 2006)limiting views.
