Ranunculus lyallii (the Mount Cook Lily) is an endemic plant of New Zealand. It is found in the Mount Cook National Park and in other alpine areas of South Island including the area around Arthur's Pass. The flower is actually a giant mountain buttercup (incorrectly called a 'lily') and flowers from November to January.
