Pakistan is home to five of the highest fourteen independent peaks in the world (the eight-thousanders) and and more than sixty peaks above 7,000 m (22,960 ft).

Main mountain ranges of Pakistan are Himalaya, Karakoram, Hindu Kush, and Sulaiman Mountains. Most of the highest peaks of Pakistan are in Karakoram, including the National Mountain of Pakistan the K2 (8,611m), second highest in the world.

It is notable that four of the highest fourteen peaks of the world are visible from Concordia (the confluence of Baltoro Glacier and Godwin Austen Glacier).
