[edit] Start Over?
I think the best thing to do in this case might to to simply start over from scratch. The language and manner of speaking is almost offense. It should be rewritten in a clear, unbiased, and professional manner.
[edit] Bias
This article seems to use much harsher language than is necessary to explain the common usage of the term "mama's boy". I get the feeling that the main author has strong opinions about "mama's boy"s, which s/he should attempt in future to keep out of wikipedia articles.
Calling the reference a "contemptuous" act is reading too far into the uncertain and varying intentions of the users of the term, and stating "it is a sign of weakness" is simply inappropriate for an encyclopedia entry. I'll change to "it is seen as a sign of weakness" - note the shifting from the narrative voice to the detached observer. This is the only appropriate viewpoint for an encyclopedia to have.
[edit] Clean Up Tag
This article needs quite a bit of help. While I don't advocate plagarism, one can look at any psychology text book and see a method of presentation on this subject that is much more encyclopedic.205.157.110.11 21:32, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pop Culture
The John Singleton films Boyz N The Hood and Baby Boy has portrayed the mama's boy culture although some view this as typecasting.
In reality, the mama's boy culture for Asians is considered a way of life, not to mention it as conservative in nature.4.230.54.154 10:46, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
