Mott MacDonald is a UK based multi-disciplinary management, engineering and development consultancy. Its group companies have a total of over 9,000 staff in 100 countries around the world.

The present company was formed by a merger of Mott, Hay and Anderson with Sir Murdoch MacDonald in 1989. It traces its roots to the founding of the Mott & Hay partnership in 1902, followed by the formation of Mott, Hay and Anderson in 1920. The company was involved in the engineering design of numerous projects, particular bridges, tunnels and rail, including the Tyne Bridge, the Dartford Tunnel and the Channel Tunnel.

Mott MacDonald has more recent engineering and management involvement in numerous high profile engineering projects including: Wembley Stadium, Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, the Lantau Link in Hong Kong and Crossrail. More recently its services have widened to include more roles as a management consultancy in fields such as education, sustainability, CSR, health and social development.

The company is a UK Notified Body, under The Railways (Interoperability) (Notified Bodies) Regulations 2000, in six TSI areas: Control Centres and Signalling, Energy, Infrastructure, Maintenance, Operations, and Rolling Stock.
