Most Expensive is a pricing game on the American television game show The Price Is Right. Debuting on October 16, 1972, it is played for three prizes, each usually worth more than $1,000.

The game was unofficially called All Or Nothing At All by Dennis James on the original syndicated version of the show. The earlier name comes from the fact that you either win all the prizes offered in the game or no prizes at all.

[edit] Gameplay

The contestant is shown three prizes, and he must decide which one is the most expensive. A correct answer wins everything.

The reveal of the contestant's selected prize is always last; the prices of the other two prizes are shown first.

[edit] Trivia

  • The staging of Most Expensive varies depending on the game's prizes. Usually played behind Door 2, it uses all three doors when played for trips, as well as the single time it has been played for cars.
  • Most Expensive originally used the blue-lighted "price tags" from Five Price Tags for its prize backdrops, with numbers placed on the bottom end. The game's second set, used from 1975 through 1984, had large, white numbers on black backgrounds.
  • On the 1980s UK Price, the game known as "Most Expensive" was actually Eazy az 1 2 3 (which, interestingly, did not exist yet in the United States). Contestants were asked to number the prizes 3-2-1 from least to most expensive, and winners would only receive the most expensive prize.
    • In the first two series of Bruce's Price Is Right, the real format of Most Expensive was used, although winners would still only receive the most expensive prize. In the third series, the game reverted to the Eazy az 1 2 3 format, and winners began to receive all three prizes.
  • Most Expensive is one of three pricing games in the current rotation that does not have its name displayed anywhere on the set. The others are Five Price Tags and 1 Wrong Price.
  • Most Expensive is occasionally played for 3 trips. On September 18, 2006, the 35th season premiere, the game was played for 3 cars for the first time.
