Mosney
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mosney, in County Meath, Ireland, is situated approximately 30 miles / 48 kilometres from Dublin; it has an unstaffed station on the Dublin-Dundalk railway line.
Mosney is probably best-known as the site of a Butlins holiday camp in the second half of the 20th century and as the site for the National Finals of the Community Games. By the early 21st-century, this had been converted into an accommodation centre for asylum-seekers, earning the nickname "Mosnia".
Mosney does not have a settled town population or the usual services associated with a town or village. In effect, Mosney is a large accommodation centre with its own catering and health services.
