A web site with some information regarding Moscow is -- http://www.Blanchardville.org -- which is a Yahoo Group about a nearby community. Loosely the story goes that the train by passed Moscow and went through Blanchardville and Hollandale so people moved away from Moscow largely to Hollandale (and some to Blanchardville). Information from Blanchardville Historical Society. The mill at Moscow was bought by Alvin Blanchard, an early "founder of Blanchardville," and moved to Blanchardville where it became an animal shelter. While not the only operators of the mill in Moscow, the Sardeson family did operate it as well as it was the "Rolling Mill" on the site of the present day bridge in downtown Blanchardville. See --http://www.Sardeson.org -- for more regarding the Sardesons and their experiences with mills in the Pecatonica Valley. More information is also available at -- Blanchardville.org -- under in the "Photo" and "File" sections pertaining to Alvin Blanchard, an early "founder" of Blanchardville and articles about Hollandale.
