[edit] Complete Clean-up
This article needs to be completely cleaned up. It contains alot of old rumours and speculation, aswell as irrelivant facts and contradictory info. SilentRage 16:35, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, I cleaned it up a bit, and I think we should get a Motor Kombat pic for the article. SilentRage 16:52, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Props on the cleanup, but IMO we should just leave it alone until the game actually comes out, then do a massive cleanup. People are going to be posting incorrect and/or speculative information from now until then, so it'll be much easier to just let it accumulate then rewrite the article from scratch. Virogtheconq 23:28, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- I think that, at the very least, we should do our best to keep blatantly false information off the page (which will no doubt continue to get posted). Someone posted this and claimed that it was the Midway-confirmed select screen. Stuff like that still needs to be nipped in the bud as quickly as possible, I think. Wishful-thinking fanboys shouldn't be using the MK:A Wikipedia entry as a way to spread misinformation. 64.219.115.34 16:36, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- Should we at least merge the Character Info and Confirmed Roster headings? It seems to be blatently redundant. 68.228.63.73
[edit] Citations needed for Quotes and References
Would you please use citations when you quote or reference info you've found on various sources. For example: "Others speculate that this is merely a promotional cinematic, and should not be taken as relevant to the game's actual story. Ed Boon has confirmed the latter in an interview." There should be a citation to the source where you found this information. Other than that this article is coming along very well. It is very informative and introduces a lot to think about. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Reverend r fish (talk • contribs).
- Yeah, there are a ton of unreferenced claims in this article. At some point, someone needs to go through it all and tag everything properly. Won't be easy, though... EVula 18:24, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've stated this elsewhere, but since there's a ton of rumors floating around about what MK:A will/won't have, how it'll work, extra features, etc., it's sort of a moot point to go through and try to cite everything, since most of it will have to be taken out/rewritten once the game comes out in two months - IMO, we should just let it slide until after the game is released, then rework the page entirely (with proper citations, of course).
I understand, but certain claims that "so-and-so" said this, or "company X" said that, should be cited. I understand that there are a lot of rumors floating around regarding the MKA project, and I am unconcerned with their validation, but I would like to see proper citing for the information that we do know.--Reverend r fish 20:40, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- If nothing else, if we tag everything with {{fact}} now, it'll make it really easy to see what information we can summarily delete once the game is released. ;) EVula 21:06, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
This would be really difficult because I've seen about 20 different interviews from different websites and it's gonna be hard to track them all down and decided who said what, where and when. ---SilentRAGE! 04:59, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

- I cleaned up some of the grammar on the latest edit. I have also been backing up the pages as we edit them just in case. We have seen a lot of vandalism lately coming from kids at the midway forums. I cleaned up minor vandalism last night.--Reverend r fish 14:28, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

- I've done some work to try to make the article a little more organised and sourced (Reverend r fish - thanks for sorting out my previous edit. :) ). If I have some time, I'm going to try and look into the "Other info" section - see if some of it can be fit into other sections, and find the necessary sources. There also isn't much information about the Konquest mode, so I'll see if anything more can be added. RobWill80 16:32, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Number of Kreated Kombatants allowed
Has there been any mention anywhere of how many Kreated Kombatants players will be able to save? Because the select screen shows two KaK slots, which leads me to believe there will only be two savable Kreated Kombatants, which would suck. Then again, the two slots may be there for two memory cards. Clearing this up would be beneficial to the article. Jeff Silvers 17:01, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- I believe Ed Boon stated in an interview that there would only be one kombatant per profile. This would seem to mean that the slots are for separate memory cards. --Dj HaQ 16:13, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Aww. :( Jeff Silvers 19:24, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
From what I have come to understand through interviews (see gameinformer.com, mortalkombatonline.com, youtube.com, etc., etc.) is that there is one KAK per profile vice per memory unit. --Reverend r fish 02:53, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Khameleon Konundrum
- "Currently, reports from subscribers of XBOX Magazine have stated that an article about Armageddon confirms Khameleon in writing as a playable character..."
- "...whilst Khameleon was confirmed in writing in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine"
I've got Khameleon in my watchlist and have been aggressively reverting any and all claims that she's in MK:A. "The latest issue" is hardly a reliable source, as the statement could easily be false by now (depending on when those initial edits were made). Can anyone provide an actual issue number? If it is still available, I'll be happy to buy a copy myself to verify this information. EVula 15:01, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything definite on Khameleon. The August issue of the US Official XBox Magazine (which I don't have easy access to, being British) has a six-page preview of MK Armageddon. Apart from posts in several forums, only one news article that I've read mentions her in the preview, at Mortal Kombat Outworld. It used to be on the front page, but I'll give a link to the article discussion at their forum [2]. RobWill80 17:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- What, you don't want to jump the pond just for a magazine? What kind of Wikipedian do you call yourself? ;P I'll see if I can pick up a copy this afternoon after work; I'd like to have definitive evidence, one way or the other. Thanks for the info. EVula 18:26, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- You're welcome. :) Let me know if she really is in there. RobWill80 19:06, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
-
Okay, I've read the article. She is mentioned, but just barely. Here's the entire mention:
- Some of those characters, like MK3's "female Goro" Sheeva and MK Trilogy's ultra-palette-swapped ninja Khameleon, appear in 3D for the first time.
Again, that is the entirety of the mention. Given the fact that she isn't in the cast roster, she isn't in the character select screens, and she isn't one of the Motor Kombat characters (the article has a list of them), the only thing I can think of is that she'll be in the Konquest mode. However, that effectively qualifies as original research. So... what do we say about her? Here's what I'm thinking of adding to Khameleon, but something similar should be posted here to prevent the Khameleon fanboys from constantly adding unsourced claims about her:
- In the September 2006 issue of Official Xbox Magazine, the article about Mortal Kombat: Armageddon mentions that Khameleon will appear in 3D for the first time. However, the extent of her appearance is unknown at this time.
I think this is the perfect balance of verifiable information and non-speculative fancruft. Sound good? EVula 03:44, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- Definitely, that sounds great. It clarifies what has actually been said about Khameleon and takes away from the misleading tone of her mention in this article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Reverend r fish (talk • contribs).
-
- I agree, it sounds good. If that's all it says in the magazine, then no other conclusions should be drawn from it in these articles, until more is known. RobWill80 09:41, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
I have been attempting to edit this into the "Character info" section. However, I stopped, as it became clear that a minor edit would be unworkable. My efforts were drawn to editing the rest of the section to fit, and then the "Confirmed roster" section. I would agree with a comment made above that work should be done to merge and clean up those sections. If I can think of a good way to present this, I will do so... unless someone else does it first! RobWill80 14:15, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I made several edits[3] related to this problem. I cut a lot of clutter and unsourced speculation (I'm favoring what I'm written for several obvious reasons). I also caught another "recent OXM issue" phrase, which thankfully is the same one that I used for Khameleon. I also removed her from the confirmed roster since this magazine is the only source we have, and the facts don't back up the claim. The last edit I made was the claim that Cinder confirmed that Chameleon/Khameleon would be in the game; the link provided is just to the board in general, and to search, you have to be registered (which I don't feel like doing right now), so I tagged it with {{fact}}, after removing the excess stuff.
- Phew. EVula 15:03, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- Good work. All I found at Midway Boards is a vague reference from Cinder, saying "Khameleons tend to hide..." ([4] 11th post down). Not much to go on, really. I've started a rough draft, merging the two sections I mentioned, trying to sort it all out. With so much unknown, it might not be worth it, but I'll keep at it. RobWill80 15:49, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- Gah, the net-speak on that page is killing me... I'm (trying to) read through the entire topic. Cinder is dropping vague hints, and then people are running wild with them. If any of it shows up here, I'm inclined to revert it on sight. Oy vey, I'm looking forward to the game being released just so the wild speculation on this game is over. Well, that and the fact I want to play the game, of course... EVula 17:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

- Truth be told, I don't own a PlayStation 2 or an XBox! I'm considering buying one for the newer games in the series. I have the older games for SNES and Nintendo 64. Anyway, I've finished the changes to those two sections - mostly reorganising, as well as some edits and sources. I hope it's good enough, but I won't take it personally if anyone reverts it. - Ah, excellent edit; I was considering combining those two sections when I did the Khameleon work, but instead opted not to (me? lazy? never!). I did flag one instance of an unsourced claim, though the rest of it was very well done. Good job! As an aside, I'd recommend getting an Xbox; you can probably find a used one for fairly cheap (same with the PS2 once the PS3 comes out). EVula 18:02, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

- No. It was confirmed. There is a petition started, but we don't know how much good that will do. You may want to go with the PS2. - Wonderful edits Rob, I fixed some of the grammar, improved a little of the language flow, and moved the PAL information to the end of the introduction to keep it in a logical sequence. I agree with your logic of moving the PAL information to the top of the page. FYI FOR ALL- there has been a lot of vandalism on here lately. I cleaned some of it up last night, but I am trying to keep a back up of the latest valid edits to this page as a cautionary step.--Reverend r fish 14:48, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

- Just my three cents here, a mention in a magazine without backup is hardly confirmation. Dragon Ball fans know this from Game Pro articles that have constantly mentioned characters being confirmed that never showed up, so I don't see why the same couldn't be said about an MK article. The S 03:15, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- I'll be the first to agree that it's fairly weak, but it's at least something. Your example is largely irrelevant; this is being used as evidence against the people who are saying she's a playable character, not as evidence for it. EVula 20:28, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
She's just been confirmed to not be in the game. It was in an interview from mkuniverse.de and confirmed by midway mod cinder. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.41.232.14 (talk • contribs).
- Source? Technically, we have more verifiable evidence that she is in the game, which isn't saying much... EVula 20:24, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Remember to also check the Khameleon talk page when discussing this. I just posted something of interest, that I think you would all be interested in looking at. ---SilentRAGE! 03:14, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt she is not, i repeat NOT in MKA. --Crinos43 09:46, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I removed the incorrect select screen image
the iamge was wrong, after trying for about 17 minutes of correct this with right iamge, but I ended up not doing cause when it was jpg it gave "this is not the corect format for this type of file" then, when I converted it to a png it gave me the same message. so i utlimately decided to remove the whole image and caption from this entry. This to alert other editors that 1)to let them know that the version prior to my editing had a character to the left of lui kang, that character was from an upcoming ps3 game and has no tries to mk or midway; 2) to hopefully have an editor more expience with uplaoding image files to correct this Merc25 07:07, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- It won’t be necessary to upload a new image, because the original is still stored in Wikipedia. I've put that image back in the article. RobWill80 11:34, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Liu Kang's fighting style
Liu Kang's fighting style is Jun Fan, and his weapons are Chain Hooks in Armageddon. It has been revealed in a preview movie, which you can see at here. It is titled "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Official Movie 2". Because I have a source, I added this info to the article.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Master Spider (talk • contribs).
- Please sign your posts. And the movie does show Liu using his chain hooks as a weapon in a FMV. Nothing is known for sure yet, unless someone has an actual screenshot or video of gameplay where it displays his weapon style as being chain hooks. MB 17:41, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Archan and Baroy
The Confirmed character section list these two as characters, yet there are no articles for them. Are they for real?? -SaturnYoshi 09:35, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
No there not real and you shouldnt listen to everything you read on wikipedia people vandalize all the time you prob just looked up at a time when it was vandalized other than you there has been no mention of these peeps
[edit] Please please please......
Please can we get rid of the sections that list things coming up in the game, such as all of the arenas? I mean, all that's happening is that people are arguing over what arena's should or shouldn't be there, and all it is is speculation. Can we please just get rid of all the speculative information on the page and make it look more encyclopedic? - The Haunted Angel 18:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree with you. That stages section is getting out of hand. If they need to be in the article, they could be added after the game is released (no stage will need to be sourced then). The weapon and fighting styles could be added to the character articles, instead of this one. RobWill80 21:21, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- Personally I don't think that any stuff like this should be in the article until the game is released, and even then it can be placed in better articles such as List of Mortal Kombat arenas. Until then I think all speculation should be removed, as such lists that do nothing other then argue over who is right depending on who has the better source. The Haunted Angel 21:26, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
*cough* What arenas section? EVula whistles nonchalantly... EVula 21:31, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well that's that dealt with ^_^ The Haunted Angel 21:51, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Also removed was the list of Fatality levels. Unless someone can cite a source for all ten levels (all in one place, not seven movies that, together, show all ten levels; it'd be too easy for one of those movies to be out of date and give us bad information), I'd say let's keep it out until the game is released and we can all verify it for ourselves. EVula 14:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- It looks a lot better now. One last thing I'm concerned about is the promotion section: does this article really need it? It might just be me, but I don't think a copy of the trailer narrator's lines and a description of website features is worth keeping. RobWill80 16:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I dunno, it seems fine to me where it is, but I wouldn't really care if it were removed. I'll leave this decision up to someone else who thinks that it needs to stay. The Haunted Angel 16:37, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I don't mind either way. I just thought that for the little information it has, it would be simpler for a reader to go and watch the trailers and visit the website, rather than read about them here. RobWill80 17:48, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] All those "k"'s
Are they all in the game or just quirky spelling on the part of editors? --Charlesknight 17:56, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Er... you're going to have to be more specific. "Kreate" is proper, as are "Konquest" and "Kombatant". If you're talking about another k-word, you'll need to note it. EVula 18:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, it's called "Create A Fighter" not "Kreate A Kombatant" take a look at Midway's press releases. NinjaFromHell 14:19, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- That would depend on what you think is more accurate. The E3 build was more recent than the original announcement. This had "Kreate a Fighter" in the game menu (e.g. Main Menu 1 at this link[6]). RobWill80 16:01, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've restored "Kreate" over "Create". Subject relevance wins out over proper spelling, as does recent information over older information. EVula 16:16, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Okay then. Though if it says "Kreate A Fighter" on the menu screen then it shouldn't say "Kreate A Kombatant" in our article. NinjaFromHell 03:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- I can't find anything official that says "Kreate a Kombatant", so I agree with you. I'll see about making the changes to the article. RobWill80 11:22, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay then. Though if it says "Kreate A Fighter" on the menu screen then it shouldn't say "Kreate A Kombatant" in our article. NinjaFromHell 03:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kreate a Kombatant
How many Kombatants can you create 10 like soul Calibur 3 or at least 30 like wwe games? And do the KaK Red and KaK Blue symbolize memory card saved characters or do they mean that the user can create only two characters in the game?
- Four, I believe. The red and blue characters are example created characters I think, but where the other two are I don't know, perhaps it is only two, which sucks, because there should be like 8 or something at least. I also noticed a character at the top, I think he's between Ermac and Noob Saibot, though I'm not sure. Didn't know who that is, but now I'm pretty sure it is Chameleon. The Haunted Angel 16:47, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
It is. It was confirmed. And there is no offical word on how many KAK's you can have. I would also think that the blue and red KaK symbolise the two different profiles. 220.240.204.8 08:27, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- They could simply stand for 2 different memory cards aswell. We'll know in 2 weeks. MB 22:40, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] a few questions about Mortal Kombat Armageddon
i've hard that one can create his own fighter and is it possible to create his own height and weight?
does Kitana use her old "Kiss of death" fatality again? i mean that "kiss of death" what inflates the oponents until they explode.
- I'm not completely sure, but height may be a factor in creating a Kombatant. Weight, on the other hand, doesn't really play an important role in the game.
- The fatality system has been reconfigured, so it's up to the player how they want to kill their opponent. Whether classic fatalities will be used in this or not hasn't been made clear. -SaturnYoshi 09:41, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Are the characters affected
I am curious to learn if a character in a fight in mk series is injured if attacked let me give you a sample well Kobra and Scorpion are fighting, Scorpions drags a ninja sword and slashes kobras hand? Will Kobra's hand be injured , will it be with blood or with a scar from scorpions slash? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.76.46.249 (talk • contribs).
- No information like that has been released. I'd be surprised, though, if that specific level of detail was introduced. We'll know in less than a month. EVula 15:51, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Then again, MK:DA first introduced how character's faced get bruised and battered throughout a battle, but that is only based on how much damage you've taken, I don't think it's specific to where you were hit. The Haunted Angel 15:11, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hold the phone
64 characters? On the selection screen i see 62. Is it vandalism or is there 2 unlocks not on the screen? Toasty! 05:42, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- 62 characters + 2 slots for custom characters = 64. Not sure what this is in reference to, though, so I'm not sure what the problem is. EVula 05:49, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- I believe it was because of the Character roster and information section. The number kept changing from 62 to 64. I added to it, so there won't be any confusion as to how many fighters are in the game. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 05:58, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Article expansion
Guys why did you erased the arenas and character fighting styles from the article? Please someone add it again with information that is confirmed and not rumors. Also i can find a picture and publish it in the article because it has very few. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.76.46.221 (talk • contribs).
- It was deleted because it isn't important, and is more often than not can't be verified. Character fighting styles belong on the character pages; arena information belongs on the arena list. EVula 15:40, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- To answer your second point - I think the article has enough images to provide commentary on the game. I suppose it could use an image of in-game fighting, but nothing more. RobWill80 15:54, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Arenas
Someone please add the exact number of arenas . I have a problem are the 17 arenas ensured or is this the final number of them becasue i read the will be 40 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Armageddon Fan (talk • contribs).
- There is a source documenting that there will be 17. Until anything disproves this, it will remain as it is ~ The Haunted Angel 16:35, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Through renders released and video footage over 30 arenas have been spotted. If you do not want to say 30+ at least take down 17 because it is a very false statement. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rooute (talk • contribs).
- That proves nothing; many of those could either be other areas inside the same arena, or arenas that were later dropped. We have a source that states 17, and the article will reflect that until we know otherwise. EVula 16:58, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
your source is wrong, how about ed boon as your source? he stated that there would be 30 - 40 arenas, how about the video footage on the MK:A website, how about the fact that we have seen well over 35 different arenas from MK:A footage so far, do you really think they would only use half of those?? 17 is wrong and you know it.
"many of those could either be other areas inside the same arena" Mk fans are not stupid we can tell if the arena is seperate or if it is a 2/3/4 tier arena. You dont sound like you know anything about Mk.
- I'm afraid I'm gonna' have to say that your source is wrong, unless of course you can prove it otherwise. The final word is, you have to provide a variable source, one that is real proof, other then just saying "Ed Boon said this" or "Ed Boon said that". ~ The Haunted Angel 22:05, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
There are a total of 34 arenas, dont believe me? download the official guide from prima off their website. or i could name them all now? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rooute (talk • contribs).
- Yay, finally somebody is citing a source, which is what we've been requesting all this time. I'll be getting the Prima guide later today (even though the Xbox version doesn't come out for a gorrom week... not that I'm pissed or anything) and will keep an eye open for information about the arenas. Whether they actually warrant a mention (as opposed to being used in List of Mortal Kombat arenas remains to be seen, however. EVula 14:10, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MK:A Storyline
Does anyone think that we could start a brief storyline section now (with info from the opening movie), or wait and do a more detailed version when the game has been released? Also, if we start it now, do we include possible plot points from Konquest previews and E3 coverage? RobWill80 16:57, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- Personally I think that we should wait until more details are released. I mean, it's still heavilly subject to change, think about how many finer details were added to Deception in the final stages. Right now all we would probably be putting up is promotional stuff, which I don't think should be added to a storyline stuff. If we can did up anymore verifiable info, that could be added. The Haunted Angel 17:35, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, I'd say let's wait. The opening movie (while really freakin' sweet) doesn't have that many specific details in it that we didn't already have from somewhere else. EVula 18:24, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wii version released in December?
Amazon.co.uk is taking pre-orders for the Wii version of MK: Armageddon, stating that it's released in the UK on 8 December, 2006 (the same date as the console). [7] I doubt that the date is reliable, but I've mentioned it here in case someone can verify it from another source. RobWill80 20:12, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- I figured that the Amazon date would change, and it has: 30 March, 2007. GameSpot also says that it's released in March [8]. I think it's still too early to get a definite date, so I'll leave the infobox as it is for now. RobWill80 20:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
It says endings for characters but.....is there story mode for the characters or sumtin?

Some things in the article are wrong. Firstly the release dates are wrong and also you must corrext the number of the arenas that are 28. Under the Character Info section, Motaro is listed as a playable character, but then the following paragraph laments the abscence of Motaro from the game. Am I missing something? CheshiresMasquerade 14:25, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what the problem in. The lamenting is "... notable absentee from the article was Motaro, the sub-boss...", which is true; he was absent from the Game Informer article, which is what that paragraph is discussing. EVula 15:09, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

- Alright, that's all I was asking... Yoshi gave the response I was looking for, which was the relevance of the article, not the fact of whether or not Motaro is actually in the game. The section mentioning it doesn't read like they were considering not putting him the game, it reads like an article previewing the game some 8 or 9 months before the game's scheduled release discussing the possible characters in an upcoming game, which hardly seems important to me. But thanks Yoshi. CheshiresMasquerade 21:10, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Last Mortal Kombat game?
I just saw an ad for Armageddon which states "Every warrior has been summoned for one final battle". Does this mean this is the last MK game?
- Yes, this is the last Mortal Kombat game on this generation of hardware. Future games will be for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (and Wii, but Armageddon will be on that as well), and a lot of characters are supposedly going to die so that the franchise doesn't have nearly as many characters running around anymore. - Thanks. I wish that Khameleon was in the game; not so much because I'm a fan of her, but because it would shut up the fan boys who keep adding her to everything... EVula 05:11, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't know if this has been thought of or at least mentioned yet, but if someone really wants Khameleon in the game. Especially if it's 100% fact that she isn't, why doesn't someone just create her in the Kreate-A-Fighter. I'm sure there are clothings that are simular to the other female ninja characters and moves too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 208.31.45.49 (talk • contribs).
- Yeah, just like Tremor can be created in KaF. Still, I don't think that's quite good enough for some people... oh well. EVula 05:11, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

- The Kreate-A-Fighter mode has the complete female ninja outfit from UMK3 for use, so it is possible to kreate her. Also, she can be given reptilian features is the player so desires. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 06:41, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Everybody wants Tremor, because he is just another ninja. For Khameleon, she should be in I think, because at least she has a storyline and she actually appeared in a fighting game. Can someone answer a question for me since I'm having trouble finding the answer for it. Does anyone know how many characters one can make in KAF? I made one but everytime I go back into that mode it goes just to that fighter I made. Can someone make more then one? And if so how? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 208.31.45.49 (talk • contribs).
- Near as I can tell, you just have to create a new profile and create the character with that one. Once you purchase something with one profile, it is unlocked for all, but I still think it is kinda lame (since my main profile is the only one with cash). EVula 20:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Thanks for the answer, but when you create a new profile like you said, does all the other hidden character's still playable since they would be unlocked from the other profile? Or were you meaning that when you said the once you purchase was for everything in the game would still be accessible, or is that just the features for KAF?
-
-
- Not entirely sure, but I'm 99% certain that, if any of the profiles have stuff unlocked (characters, costumes, arenas), it is up for grabs when playing (similar to how Deception worked; if I used my new character, with no unlockables gained, I still had the full character roster when playing arcade). Could be wrong, though. EVula 20:55, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
-
You can create only one character per profile, if you wanted to make another one; you would have to make another profile. But the good news is, once you've unlocked characters, clothings or anything else in the game with any profile. It'll be unlocked for all new profiles that one might make, only down side is; you wouldn't be able to have two created characters face each other. (Unless you have two memory cards with the same information for the second player side).
- Eh? I've been able to have two custom characters fight each other. You just can't pick one for the Practice mode (which sorta sucks). This on an Xbox, though; perhaps it is different for the PlayStation version. EVula 03:34, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Shang Tsung
Why cant he turn into other people like in...i think it was the third one...?
- It was stated that the morphing function is too difficult to implement into a 3D engine without some cheesy coverup. The creators talked about this on the "History of Fatalities" video in regards of Animalities. I'm sure the same applies to Shang. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 23:47, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- I always assumed that the reason was shown on the CD versions of MKII -- no one wants mid-match loading which is 100% controlled by a player. --69.173.8.119 00:52, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, pretty much. So until the day comes when technology has gotten to the point where it could make such a morphing function work in the Mortal Kombat games, we'll all have to wait. And by that point, the Shang Tsung character might not be within the series at that time (If they deside to kill him off). Or bring a new character with something simular to morphing of course.
[edit] Memory Card Secrets
I have the two pervious MK games (MKDA, MKD) on my memory card with this new one. I know some games have something special if you use the same memory card for saving in a sequel title like the Castlevania's for PS2. I thought I would try this and see if there was anything, I don't know if anyone else has tried this or even again thought of it. So I tried but I haven't notice anything special.
- As far as I can tell, no.
- Also, in general, a question like this would be better served on a dedicated discussion board; talk pages again, again in general, supposed to be geared more towards discussion of the article than of the features in the game (except where the two intersect, of course). EVula 22:44, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Intro Video
Like the previous new genereration games, would the intro video for Armageddon be concidered cannon? Meaning that the featured deaths of characters such as Sheeva and Kenshi are cannon.
- Personally, I consider the video canon, however, I don't believe that these people die. Sure, Kenshi gets a nice sword through him, then Shang Tsung jumps on him, and he lies motionless for a while, but these dudes are very powerful, and we see them survive long falls without even a flinch, or we see people fighting at the beginning, apparently floating in midair. So if they can defy the law of gravity, I think that the wounds they took were probably enough to incapacitate them, but not kill them. The Haunted Angel (The Forest Whispers My Name) 09:54, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- Quan Chi's leg gets broken, and then immediately he has no problem crouching. This, among many other things, is evidence that "normal" rules are not to be taken seriously. Personally, I consider the cinematic to be more eye-candy than canon, but that's just me. EVula 18:45, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- The intro is good to watch, but I don't consider it as canon. My top concern is some characters motivations for attacking others. Why are Scorpion and Sub-Zero fighting each other? Wouldn't Scorpion have gone looking for Quan Chi? Wouldn't Sub-Zero be defending himself from Frost? For a very thin story, it could be argued that all of them are megalomaniacs, only concerned about "the prize".
-
-
-
- As far as the canon story of Armageddon is concerned, (I'm sorry to say it, but...) I'm more inclined to accept the events of Konquest mode, more than anything else. I think Konquest has a decent "standalone" story, but it's a great shame that the writing team seemingly gave up trying to give any story to most of the cast, and spent more time on this "extra", than on the main feature of the game. RobWill80 20:05, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- In my view, the events of the Konquest mode are more canon then anything else, and as EVula said, the into is most likely 'eye-candy'. However, I am inclined to believe anything that happened then is canon, unless contradicted otherwise. Why were Chi and Scorpion on the same side? Why were Sub and Scorpion fighting? I don't know... Chi mentioned in Konquest (at least I think it was him) that if they didn't unite, darkness would be gone forever. Unless they were talking about Armageddon, it seems unrealistic for mortal enemies and rivals to unite in order to "save darkness". Sounds a tad cheesy to me. Nonetheless, I'm rambling.. personally, I think the intro was canon, there are just a few dubious bits... The Haunted Angel (The Forest Whispers My Name) 22:42, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

-
- We'll know if the intro is canon or not by the next game. I know that's a completely useless statement, but it's been true for all the other games (on that note though, if all the other intros for games are considered canon, it would not be unreasonable to assume this one is as well (albeit with some potential for retconning in the fashion of Shao Kahn's death in MK:DA's intro)). [edit] Khameleon Video
I don't know if this is real or not, but I was looking up mortal kombat on youtube earlier and there is a video on Youtube, that starts out with Kreate a kharacter but at the end this person somehow unlocking Khameleon with the ? box in the krypt. The site address http://youtube.com/watch?v=lwF88x_tL9g Is there any proof to this? Does anyone out there know if this is real or not? And if so, would this be proof in itself that maybe she is in the game? the way it ends with "someone will find the code" doesn't sound like it's real, but the way it's apears I don't know for sure. I added this into the Khameleon discussion page too, maybe someone might have an idea about this video or not?

[edit] Searching for MK Armageddon

[edit] Worthwhile addition?
In the Kreate a Fighter section, it talks about how there were classes initially (with a reference), but now there is just a single preset available at the beginning (no reference needed), but that unlocking other items will eventually unlock the presets (no reference).
I've been piecing together all the available presets, and am compiling them into a single page (for my own reference). I could easily put this up on my site, if everyone else thinks it'd be a worthwhile reference for the "unlocking presets" comment.
Since I'd effectively be linking straight to my own site, though, I can't just add the link. Thoughts? EVula // talk // ☯ // 19:43, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've had a discussion with another editor about using his own website as a source for a lot of his edits. I wasn't comfortable with it, because he was basically calling himself a reliable source, and all of his links would've needed checking against the original sources.
- Here, I'd only need to take a quick look at my own game... I'm just kidding; I'd easily take your word for it. But I think you understand my point. I guess that I'm okay with it, as long as we don't need to do this too often, with other unreferenced parts. That is, unless, you want to start your own MK fansite...?
