How many eggs does a morpho butterfly lay in a year?

[edit] Ocelli

"The ventral side is decorated with ocelli or eyespots. In some species, such as M. godarti, the dorsal lamellae are so thin as to allow the ventral ocelli to peek through."

I don't think ocelli is the right word here. It's generally used to refer to simple eyes on insects and the like. Am I wrong on this? --Kugamazog 02:54, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Morpho Butterfly

I am a Year 6 pupil and am doing a school project on the rainforest. I am looking at the morpho butterfly and need to know what it's current status is in terms of numbers and conservation in the wild.

Many thanks
