Moringen

Moringen is a small city in the southern part of Lower Saxony, Germany, in the district Northeim. Population 7,599 (2003). The city consists of the center Moringen and 8 surrounding villages.

It is the seat of a psychiatric hospital, founded in late 19th century. During WWII the hospital was emptied by killing the patients and abused by the Nazis as a concentration camp. Today it is again a psychiatric hospital.

In Moringen is also the major waste Landfill of the Northeim district.
