Moravian Spice Cookies

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moravian Spice Cookies originate in Moravia, in the Czech Republic; the recipe has been traced back to the 1700s. The blend of spices and molasses, rolled paper thin, has a reputation as the "World's Thinnest Cookie."

The cookie is also popular (especially around Christmas) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, which was settled by adherents of the Moravian Church and maintains one of the largest Moravian communities in the United States.
