[edit] Pronunciation

Pronunciation of the family name varies from place to place. In Ireland, where the name descended the Gaelic name O'Móráin, it is generally pronounced (phonetically) "more-in", an anglicized approximate of the Irish pronunciation. Elsewhere, pronunciation follows the French name, Morant, anglicized to (phonetically) "more-anne".[1]
